YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has signed a decision on creating a committee for organizing and holding the COP-17, the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity of the UN which will be held in Armenia in 2026.
The decision was posted online at e-gov.am.
On October 31, during the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, Armenia was elected as the host country of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
Armenia won the bid to host the conference with 65 votes, while Azerbaijan, which also sought the right to host, garnered only 58 votes.
