Accor Expands Presence in Armenia with New Mercure Hotel in Tsaghkadzor

Accor has announced plans to open a new Mercure hotel in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia’s premier ski and resort destination. Developed in partnership with WinInvest LLC, the Mercure Tsaghkadzor will embody the brand’s hallmark “Locally Inspired” philosophy, drawing from Armenia’s rich cultural and historical heritage. The 4-star hotel is set to open in early 2027.

A Milestone for Mercure

Mercure, a brand known for celebrating local culture, has surpassed 1,000 hotels worldwide, with over 200 properties in development. The Mercure Tsaghkadzor will join this extensive portfolio, reflecting the destination’s unique essence through carefully curated interiors, cuisine, and experiences.

Alexis Delaroff, Chief Operating Officer of Accor New East Europe, expressed enthusiasm for the new addition:
“This latest signing marks an important step in our continued expansion in Armenia. Mercure Tsaghkadzor will attract guests who can experience the destination like a local, while enjoying the comfort of a world-class brand.”

Tsaghkadzor: A Growing Destination

Nestled in the Caucasus Mountains, Tsaghkadzor is evolving into a sought-after year-round travel destination. Known for skiing and snowboarding during winter, it also offers serene landscapes and cultural landmarks in the summer, including the Kecharis Monastery complex and the Orbeli brothers’ house-museum.

Hovhannes Cholakhyan, Founder of WinInvest LLC, highlighted the project’s significance:
“Mercure Tsaghkadzor will contribute to the development of local tourism infrastructure and bring the authentic spirit of Armenian hospitality to the forefront. This project will also play a key role in attracting investments and driving economic growth in Armenia.”

A Blend of Comfort and Local Charm

The hotel will feature 69 rooms, including 10 villas, designed to provide guests with modern comforts infused with local character. Amenities include:

  • spa and wellness area with a pool, sauna, and hammam.
  • Three diverse restaurants serving local and international cuisine.
  • A kids’ area for family-friendly stays.
  • State-of-the-art conference rooms for corporate and private events.

The design will reflect the local culture and history, creating an inviting atmosphere that mirrors Mercure’s commitment to authenticity.
