YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Independence Day.
"I warmly congratulate you and the friendly people of Lebanon on the occasion of Independence Day,” PM Pashinyan said in a letter addressed to PM Mikati published by his office. “The relations between Armenia and Lebanon are based on centuries-old friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation and mutual respect between the two peoples, which best characterizes the current level of political relations between Armenia and Lebanon. We are deeply concerned and worried about the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon, and we consider the targeting of the civilian population and civilian infrastructure inadmissible. The Republic of Armenia supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of the borders of Lebanon, and with its active participation, through the Armenian peacekeeping force, contributes to the strengthening of Lebanon's security. In this difficult time for Lebanon, I wish you good health, strength and courage in your efforts to withstand the challenges and bring the country to a peaceful destination."
