Armenian FM, Bundestag’s Anton Hofreiter discuss bilateral ties, EU partnership
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. On November 21, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Anton Hofreiter, Chair of the Committee on European Affairs of the German Bundestag.
The Armenian FM and the German legislator touched upon the efforts aimed at further deepening of the cooperation between Armenia and Germany, both in bilateral format and in the framework of the EU, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
In the context of further expanding the bilateral partnership agenda, alongside with the high-level political dialogue, the importance of developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest and fostering it through active interparliamentary engagements was emphasized .
Touching upon the intention to deepen the Armenia-EU partnership, Minister Mirzoyan stressed the ongoing reforms implemented by Armenia in the spheres of strengthening democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights. The importance of cooperation aimed at further strengthening Armenia's resilience was emphasized.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Anton Hofreiter exchanged views on regional issues. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia's vision for establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, including the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
